Home Heart

The 2023 holiday season is upon us, and it feels like exactly the right time to share a representation of my absolute favorite place on earth - HOME!

The Home Heart quilt pattern is available now, and it is the perfect make for the holiday season. The classic old tune said it best: “there’s no place like home for the holidays”! Truer words have rarely been spoken.

Home Heart cover quilt

Home Heart is inspired by my deep love for the feeling of home. Home is the place that shelters me, the people who ground me, and the feeling of putting my feet up to relax and recharge.

The Home Heart quilt pattern includes directions for a 62” x 62” throw quilt. The pattern contains instructions for a version made from yardage, and a version that is fat quarter friendly:

The pattern is a traditionally pieced, block-based design of repeating blocks set with sashing strips. It is a beginner-friendly pattern that is perfect for showing off your favorite fabrics.

The cover version features a bold, modern selection of solids. I used Essex linen by Robert Kaufman, and I absolutely love the luxurious weight and feel of the finished quilt.

I’m really excited to play with some prints that I have in my stash - stay tuned for the FQ Christmas version that I have planned for December!

I hope you love the Home Heart pattern as much as I do. As you journey through creating your Home Heart quilt, I hope you will feel the warmth of all of the people, places, and comforts that make you feel most at home!

Don’t forget to share your makes on Instagram by tagging me @DreamlandQuilting and using the hashtags #HomeHeartQuilt and #DreamlandQuiltPatterns.

I can’t wait to see what you make!

P.S. - This design will look familiar to those of you who participated in the Sweater Weather Sampler 2023, as my block pattern was indeed the Home Heart block! However, in the sampler, the finished block sizes were different than the finished block sizes of the full quilt pattern pictured here. If you are interested in purchasing the block that was included as part of the Sweater Weather Sampler 2023, it is available in my shop!
